Comments about Hangout. Make teaching and learning visible and how visibility to learner is paramount, let the children know what is coming - Learning Intentions, Success Criteria. I have both written on white board and they set the success criteria. Need to explain the importance of both. Learning experiences are like a maze - floundering around. Need to provide guidance and easy to understand directions.

Coding - understood basics and how it can be useful in the classroom. Children in Room 1 have an idea on this.
(Nicola came out on Monday this week and went over this in the class)Children all interested and keen to carry on. This is evident when they have free time in class.

I still find that some of the material is way over my head, however some of it I am using in the classroom.

  1. You're still here and you're still engaging. It is something of a journey and takes time. Not everything will work or be relevant for your classes but by trying you find out what does and doesn't work.

  2. Hi Kevin- top marks for all the key competencies :)

However, your comment "I still find that some of the material is way over my head," is a concern as we are working with your school long term and our team is here to help. The nine days of intensive learning make no apologies for living up to the name. BUT we have a long term approach to supporting you and your colleagues and you need to keep the team informed about what needs revisiting, what ideas appealed but left you confused about implementation etc. One of my colleagues says "its a marathon not a sprint".

  3. Kevin, you need to stop thinking negative thoughts because you can do it and as Dorothy has said, I am here to support you and you have already seen that your students are capable and more than happy to assist you in your journey. Keep taking those small challenging steps and you will make it to the end.
